Greens: ADF must urgently develop & implement climate change strategy

Australian Greens Peace and Disarmament spokesperson Senator Jordon Steele-John has reiterated calls for Australia's defence force to urgently develop and implement a climate change strategy, after revelations today that senior bureaucrats have been wargaming climate change scenarios.

Senator Steele-John also called on the government to immediately release the details of the climate change scenarios, which they have so far refused to release through Freedom Of Information.

The Greens (WA) focus on young people for climate change election, but could lose Senate seat to One Nation

Australian Greens Senator for WA Jordon Steele-John is in even greater danger of losing his seat to Pauline Hanson's One Nation, after today's ballot draw placed the far-right party in first position on the Senate ballot paper.

Senator Steele-John said in the face of so much hate and division from the ever-increasing number of far-right parties, it had never been more important to ensure the Greens maintained a strong Senate presence.

Greens announce plans to Renew WA

More than 24,000 full-time jobs a year would be created in Western Australia under the Greens plan to rapidly transform Australia’s energy system to renewables by 2030.

Compensation for Australia's thalidomide survivors must be allocated in tomorrow's federal budget

Australian Greens Disability Rights spokesperson Senator Jordon Steele-John has supported calls by Thalidomide Group Australia flagging the urgent need for compensation to form part of tomorrow's federal budget.

Thalidomide Group Australia spokesperson Lisa McManus said:

"The government must take this opportunity to deliver justice for my community; If compensation is not included in the budget it will be absolutely devastating for survivors."
