Connecting to NBN has been overwhelmingly negative for Australians: Greens

Connecting to Australia’s National Broadband Network has been overwhelmingly a negative experience for most people, according to Australian Greens NBN spokesperson Senator Jordon Steele-John.

“In the last few weeks I've already been inundated with complaints from frustrated Australians who have not had the NBN experience they were promised by this government,” Senator Steele-John said.

“Senator McGrath’s suggestion yesterday that the NBN under a Turnbull government is capable of delivering speeds up to 100 megabytes per second, and will be capable of delivering one gigabyte per second, is fabricated nonsense.

“Access to fast, secure and stable internet is a human right, and Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) technology is the only long-term solution to meet Australia’s current and future broadband needs.

“This government are letting down millions of Australians with their NBN compromise and the Greens will continue to champion access to a network that meets our current and future digital needs.”
